SANTA CLARA, CA (January 4, 2024) - The field is set for the 2024 Umberto Abronzino Cup.

Twelve of the top men's amateur clubs in Northern California and Northern Nevada are participating in the month-long event kicking off this weekend, Jan. 6-7. The winner will earn a berth in the 2024 NISA Independent Cup.

"We are thrilled to organize the Umberto Abronzino Cup again this year and keep it going for clubs in Northeran California. It's a great honor to be able to offer the NISA Independent Cup opportunity to the winner this year," Southwest Premier League President Matt Morse said.

The top two in each group advance to the quarterfinal round of the Abronzino Cup.

"It's only in it's second year but it's already the top tournament in Northern California," Southwest Premier League Vice President Dennis Pope said. "I expect the Abronzino Cup to get bigger next year and eventually rival the Briones Cup in SoCal."

Santa Clara SC, last year's inaugural tournament champion, is slotted in Group C.
